Tiny Treks – Werneth Low Country Park

Start: Werneth Low Visitors Centre, Lower Higham Rd, Werneth Low, Hyde, Tameside. SK14 5LR
Facilities: Parking (Free), Visitors Centre: Open Sat/Sun 12.30pm-4.30pm, Tues 11.45-4pm. Bank Holidays 12.30pm – 4pm. Toilets open when centre open.
Walking Instructions

1. From the Lower Higham Visitors Centre Car Park follow the sign post

to the Memorial (up hill).

2. On reaching the memorial continue walking past toward the masts. (Q’s 1-6)

3. You will see a well trodden path to the left sign posted

Trans Pennine Trail. (Q’s 7-8). Take the path to

the left. You can see it running along the side of the hill below the masts.

4. This path dips down then climbs upwards and meets with a tarmac lane. (Q’s 9-10).Turn right.

5. Follow this lane in front of the masts. There is a little path that runs alongside wall/fence and will keep youngster of the lane. (Q’s 11-13).

6. Walk past the Golf Club until you see Quarry bank car-park on the left.

7. Turn right along a path

signposted to Cenotaph.

8. Pass through 2 x gate stiles and look for a sign post

to the left marked to Lower Higham Visitors
Centre. Follow this path until you eventually return to the car park. (Q14).
